How we pick the better side
One question in, one answer out. Behind that, each side of the aircraft gets scored along the whole route.
Scoring both sides
We build the flight path, sample it end to end, and score the left and right windows separately for each thing you asked about: sun, city views, scenery, water. The higher total wins, and the gap between the two sets the confidence.
What the data comes from
Flight numbers and schedules come from a live flight data feed. Sun position is computed astronomically. Cloud, visibility and precipitation come from an open weather model along the route. Airport coordinates and runway headings come from an open airport dataset.
When no precise route is available we fall back to a great-circle path from the scheduled airports and times, and the result says the confidence is lower.
When neither side wins
Plenty of flights are honest ties. In that case you get “Either side is good” or a slight edge, rather than a confident answer we cannot support.
